CROSS LANE STUDENTS

Bringing Students to Jesus (6-12th)

Our student ministry exists to help middle school and high school students in grades 6-12 believe in Jesus, belong in community, and become part of God’s story. Our large group gatherings, small groups, and events are all designed to develop deep, genuine community among students. We hope your student will consider joining us on Sundays at 10:30am in the Student Room.

Student Pastor:

Avery Simpson

Avery Simpson serves as the Student Pastor at Cross Lane Community Church, where she is passionate about helping students encounter Jesus in creative ways, build lasting faith, and find their place in God’s story.

Born and raised right here in Terre Haute, Avery has a deep love for the community and a heart for the next generation. She earned her bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry from Huntington University and has been actively involved in student ministry since she was in it herself. Avery is married to her best friend and biggest supporter, Trey Simpson. Together, they love investing in students and helping them discover who they are in Christ. She believes that middle and high school students are not just preparing for ministry someday — they are already vital members of the church today. Her approach to ministry centers around authentic relationships, biblical teaching, and creating safe, fun spaces where students can grow together in Christ. She loves to say, “There’s no Junior Holy Spirit!” When she’s not at church or spending time with students, Avery enjoys watching movies with Trey, cuddling with her dog Dolly, thrifting, and getting lost in a good book. She’s always up for meaningful conversations and loves seeing students take bold steps in their faith.

Join us at Midweek!

Wednesday evenings for MIDWEEK from 6:00-7:30 p.m. during the school year.   A typical meeting includes an interactive group lesson, a game, maybe some food and a surprise or two.

  • We believe that to know God is to want to know him more. So one way to know him is to grow in the knowledge of his word. So our midweek services are geared toward helping students know Jesus and to build relationships with other students that can help them in their personal walk with Jesus.

  • Any student who is in middle school or high school (Grades 6-12)

  • Midweek is every Wednesday night during the school year from 6-7:30pm!

In addition to our midweek services, we also love to fellowship with one another. Throughout the year we have multiple events designed specifically for Middle School and High School Students including but not limited to, CIY MOVE/MIX, Fall Retreat, mission trips, game nights, summer midweek meet-ups, and more. These events help students grow in fellowship and create friendships that will last long after they graduate.

Resources

We all know that this is a crazy world we live in and we did not get an instruction manual on how to raise our children. But that does not mean there is no hope. There are some great resources from biblically-minded people that we can use to help us gain wisdom and understanding on how to guide our kids. Follow any of the links below to find help.
